Home is where...

Home is where the frogs sing, and the birds chirp, and my son can run and play....

Oh I'm on a little happy high right now.

We signed today... our closing date is June 1st.

We are SO excited.

I don't even know what to say!  I'm speechless.... so excited.
Our future home...
well... kinda... ours isn't built yet. hehe. :)  But this is what it will look like.

We're going to start going through our storage unit and getting rid of stuff.  I have to get the ball rolling on the yard sale... which I've never done one and I'm kind of at a loss on how to get this started... heh.

But yeah... the next couple months are going to be busy ones...

Talk about a birthday gift to my hubby bub... "HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY! BOUGHT YOU A HOUSE!" haha... XD

House hunting...

This last Saturday my husband and I headed abuot 40-45 mins. NW from where we live now to look at some homes... we've been searching for a long time now, and it has taken a toll on me.  I was feeling a little put off by the idea of looking again since I had been let down so hard on the last few houses we had put offers on and not gotten.

For our price range, we can't really get anything that we want or need here in the cities, so we decided it was worth the drive to get something we can be in for a long time.  So little high way town, here we come!

We got there and the first house was wonderful.  Lived in, but pretty decent.  It came with all the appliances and the carpet was in good condition, 3 car garage... but I just wasn't sure.  We looked at 5 more houses, 2 of which were crossed off the list VERY quickly.  The second to the last house was REALLY nice... but the carpet would need replacing, and there weren't any appliances... and then there was the fact it was a forclosure owned by fannie mae which screwed us over on the first house we had almost got... through the inspection and them changing the paper work on us 3 times, we finally just said nevermind.

Well... then came the last house... which was still being built... so we looked at a model of it... I was in love... specially with the idea of a fresh start to keeping things clean for the baby.  After looking at the model, we went to look at the lot the one we would get is being built on.  The frame was done, so we took a look around and it was just dream like for me.  I could hear frogs singing on the other side of a line of trees in the backyard.  I felt at home. :)

Needless to say, by the end of the night after much talking between Jeff and I, we decided this was the way to go for us.  The best part is it will cost us less than the one we almost got in the end, since we don't have to put in new carpet or buy appliances.  So we're pretty excited.  We go tomorrow to meet with the builder and get the paper work in order. :)

I'll be a little lonely when we move, since I've grown so used to seeing my mom every morning, talking over coffee, and our evening knitting time together... but Jeff, David and I need this... our own family unit seperate from my childhood family unit.  I will miss my parents, but I welcome the space and freedom for Jeff and I to build our own family traditions and memories.

Well, David just went down for a nap, and I have a shawl just calling to me to work on, so I'm going to go knit for a bit till mom is ready for a break from work, then we'll pack up and head out to the mall for a little "get out of the house" time.

Hope you all had a great weekend and are having a good Monday.
love

Little Camo Boy

The sun finally came out to say hello yesterday afternoon so Jeff and I thought it would be nice to go for a walk.  Best thing about the sun, a fun little sun hat!  I just got it in the mail yesterday, and I was all sorts of excited. :)  Its a "Grandpa" hat.
Can you believe he'll be 8 months old on Saturday??? I can't... heh

Well, I just wanted to share the pictures. :)  I'll try to update with something more full bodied later. :)
Happy Friday!!!

Steam hurts

So last night I decided to make Chicken Alfredo for dinner with salad and garlic bread.  I was pretty flustered while making it... and usually I have back up help... but I guess I was being stubborn and wanted to do it all myself.  Well... as I was getting the salad ready, I realized the bread needed to be taken out of the oven... THEN realized the chicken needed to be flipped... and as I took the cover off the pan... I was attacked by the steam monster...

Needless to say... I went to bed with a wrapped wrist... just so nothing would rub against the burn... I know air is good for burns, but things touching it hurts worse than anything right now...so I'm just fine with covering it.

Annny way, today is another rainy day... good for the plants, bad for my mood... I get really blah when its rainy... but what can ya do?  David is playing on his floor mat looking cute as ever in his little skull and cross bone leggings, with his fighter pilot onesie, and grey hoodie.  I love his style ;)

Today doesn't look like a very productive day... I'll probably clean when Jeff gets home... that way he can watch David while I do so.

If any one has sun today, soak some in for me. <3

Sunshine, how I missed Thee...

Finally!  The sun came out and said hello, and I sang back in joyous chorus to the wonderful warmth it casted down upon me!  (Though today, its rainy, but that's okay, it's making everything that pretty shade of green and makes me so excited... its a sign of things to come... buds, flowers, warm water for swimming in.)

Jeff and I spent Sunday outside on the lawn with our little man, soaking in that yummy warmth.  David is new to the outdoors since he was a newborn at the end of summer, and by the time he was old enough to do anything outside, it was negative "whatever" degrees out... and I was NOT about to take him out in that. ;P

Our outdoor sunshine fun time was rudely interrupted by these teeny tiny little bugs that were on the landscaping rocks.  They decided it would be fun to come down OFF their rock and onto our blanket... I noticed before they got too close, but either way, I felt pretty buggy after that... ("scolding hot shower here I come" kind of thing).
Creepy bugs that invaded!

Well, now I'm sitting here waiting for another sunny day to take him out with me... at least to get him in his bouncer on the lawn while try to organize the garage a bit.  (I decided to have a yard sale, so I'm trying to get that in order while also being "mommy", which we all know can be hard to do when you have a little one.)

David has also gotten really good at scooting.  Mostly backwards, but he's got the idea of what he needs to do for crawling, he just can't keep his balance right when he moves his hand forward.  He'll be crawling soon, I can feel it in my bones.  I have the camera ready for when he does... I've taken so many videos of him just rocking back and forth. (Which makes me giggle because its just so darn cute!)

Well, I'm off for a little bit.  I'm hoping to start updating again a bit more regularly.  Holidays also get me feeling so lazy about things like this... heh.  But writing is important... so one must continue such important things. :)
