It's a Boy!

On Good Friday we found out that our little blessing is a boy.

We ventured out Friday morning to the clinic with my mother tagging along, glowing with excitement in getting the first peek at her little grand baby.

We arrived early, but got in quickly, which was good cause I really didn't want to keep that much water in my system for too long... talk about a potty dance!

At first glance, it was love at first sight. Seeing that little profile. The little nose, ear, lips, hands... everything about him made my heart skip a beat. Jeff was grinning from ear to ear and Grandma Liz held her hands as if she were praying thanks to the Lord, which I'm sure she actually was doing.

When first they tried to see the gender, the baby didn't want to show off. The little foot was tucked up hiding any clues to if we call the baby David or Kaedence. So the Tech just decided to continue on with the measurements... heart, lungs, brain, spin, organs... every little detail we got to watch... a few times he would kick or move and it was so crazy for me to feel it and see it at the same time!!! It was just amazing! Tears were welling in my eyes.

The Tech decided to give it another go on gender, and there it was... she turned the screen to me and asked..."okay, what do YOU think it is?" and I've never seen an ultrasound before showing the gender, so I was worried I wouldn't know... but right away... I just blurted out, "Is it a boy?!" with a look of shock on my face since SO many people believed it to be a girl... with me giggling at them all saying, "Just wait, it's going to be a boy" and low and behold... there he was... my little David Keegan. My "Beloved Little Flame".

All three of us just grinned ear to ear, mom and I with tears in our eyes... the excitement level was so high you could feel the electricity prickling your skin.

To make a long story short... we left there with a high of happiness, and started making our phone calls to Grandma and Grandpa Karels, as well as Grandpa Kensinger and Uncle David and Auntie Erika.

All in all... Good Friday really was... a Good Friday. :)

This is a beautiful story Krista. Thank you for starting this. FB is good, but doesn't have the depth of a blog.
